This little moose started CyberMoose.ca way back in 2000 when the internet was kind of just coming into its own. The Moose finally made his debut on the world wide web in January of 2001.

The idea of CyberMoose came about because I wanted to create a place where it was easy to find shops and services locally with the focus being within the area of Georgian Bay and Muskoka. Not only did I want to focus within those communities, but I only wanted small and independant businesses, you won't find any big box store listings here.

Why a moose you might ask? Well, what is more Canadian than a moose!

It was also my goal to create a place for visitors to the area to find out the history about our individual communities. So if you haven't done so already, you can read all about our little communities in the Info section.

My moose has been a labour of love over the last 24 years, always making an effort to provide you with local shops and services. There are no crawling bots here, just a human who does the research (yep, very old school LOL) and making sure that the sites I add are in keeping with the moose's code of ethics.

This moose has style

There has been many changes over the years to both the logo and the website style. The most current changes were done in October/November of 2024 with yet another website makeover along with sprucing up the Moose himself. I launched the new site in November of 2024.

When I was redesigning the website in 2024 I thought it would be fun to look back at my first CyberMoose logo design. Today it has just slightly changed since 2019. I took away the harsh outline in favor of a more natural blended look. I also went back to his roots with the quintessential Canadian touque!
